Intermittent Fasting...Is it for you?

There are said to be many benefits to intermittent fasting. Not only weight loss, sustainable weight loss, but increased brain function as well. For those of us looking to get back on the fitness wagon for the New Year, is this something you've thought about? I have thought about it, I just don't know if it's something I could stick with. I'm more of a grazer. I usually eat 6 small meals throughout the day and, for the most part, it's worked, although over the holidays those meals weren't the best choices :(. So, what is intermittent fasting and why is it the new trend?

Johns Hopkins Medicine neuroscientist Dr. Mark Mattson has studied the health impact of intermittent fasting for decades and has even followed the lifestyle for 20 years. Part of his studies show that both animals and people who fasted had decreased blood pressure, blood lipid levels and resting heart rates. Not bad.
